Everyone should come together to create a better country and a virtuous future generation, President Maithripala Sirisena said.

The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the proposal for a Vote of Account in Parliament for the first four months of the year 2020. A statement on Cabinet decisions taken at the Cabinet meeting on Tuesday said since the Presidential Election is due to be held at the end of 2019, the Budget for the year 2020 will be postponed to early 2020, so that the Budget of 2020 can be prepared based on the composition of the new Cabinet and the new policies of the Government.

Sri Lanka’s teacher service has been brought under stipulated in teacher’s minutes and procedures. Accordingly school Deputy Principals and teachers should cover certain number of periods of teaching irrespective of their grades.

President Maithripala Sirisena has sought the opinion of the Supreme Court on the process that should be followed to hold the Provincial Council elections without a delimination report, which is to be taken up on 23 August.

කොළඹ නගරයේ එකතු වූ කසල මෙට්‍රික් ටොන් 1,000ක් පමණ තවදුරටත් ඉවත් කිරීමට ඇති බව කොළඹ මහ නගර සභාව පවසනවා. එහි නාගරික කොමසාරිස් පාලිත නානායක්කාර කියා සිටියේ ගතවූ දින කිහිපය තුළ ගොඩගැසුණු කසලවලින් අඩක් පමණ අරුවක්කාලු සනීපාරක්ෂක කසල අංගනය වෙත බැහැර කළ බවයි.
