තමන්ට වයස 80ත් පසුකර ඇති නිසා මාදිවෙල මන්ත්‍රී නිවාසවල පඩිපෙළ නැගීමට නොහැකි බව හිටපු විපක්ෂනායක සහ දෙමළ ජාතික සන්ධානයේ නායක ආර්.සම්පන්දන් මහතාඊයේ (22) පාර්ලිමේන්තුවට දැනුම් දුන්නේය.

මහ මැතිවරණයේදී ශ්‍රී ලංකා නිදහස් පක්ෂය පොදුජන පෙරමුණ සමග සන්ධානගත වන්නේ නම් තමා වෙනම මැතිවරණයට ඉදිරිපත් වන බව පාර්ලිමේන්තු මන්ත්‍රී කුමාර වෙල්ගම මහතා පවසනවා. කුමන මතගැටුම් තිබුණද තමන් ශ්‍රීලනිපය අත්හැරීමට සූදානම් නොමැති බවත්, එහෙත් කිසිසේත්ම පොාහොට්ටුවට සම්බන්ධ වීමට බලාපොරොත්තුවක් නොමැති බවත් මන්ත්‍රීවරයා පවසනවා.

ශ්‍රී ලංකා නිදහස් පක්ෂයෙන් ඉවත්ව පොහොට්ටුවට හේත්තු වූ එස්.බී. දිසානායකට, ඩිලාන් පෙරේරාට දැන් යථාර්ථය අවබෝධ වී ඇති බවත්, ඔවුන් මේ වනවිට පොහොට්ටුවත් අහිමිව ශ්‍රීලනිපයත් අහිමිව අනාත වී ඇති බවත් ශ්‍රීලනිප මහ ලේකම් දයාසිරි ජයසේකර මහතා පවසයි. පොදුජන පෙරමුණේ පාක්ෂියකයන්ගෙන් ඔවුන් ප්‍රතික්ෂේප වී ඇති බවයි ජයසේකර මහතා පවසන්නේ.

ජයම්පති වික්‍රමරත්න මහතා එක්සත් ජාතික පක්ෂ පත්කළ මන්ත්‍රීධූරයෙන් ඉල්ලා අස්වීමෙන් පුරප්පුඩු වූ මන්ත්‍රීධූරය සඳහා වෘත්තිය සමිති සහ සිවිල් සංවිධාන නියෝජිතයකු වන සමන් රත්නප්‍රිය මහතා නම් කළ බව එක්සත් ජාතික පක්ෂයේ මහලේකම් අකිල විරාජ් කාරියවසම් මහතා පවසයි.

ශ්‍රී ලංකා නිදහස් පක්ෂයේ සිට මේ වන විට පොහොට්ටුවට එක්ව සිටින්නන් තමන් ශ්‍රීලනිපයේ නැති බව ප්‍රකාශ කළද අවසානයේ ඔවුනට ඡන්දය ජයග්‍රහණය කිරීමට සිදුවන්නේ ශ්‍රී ලංකා නිදහස් පාක්ෂිකයන්ගේ කර උඩින් යැයි එම පක්ෂ මහලේකම් රාජ්‍ය ඇමැති දයාසිරි ජයසේකර පැවැසීය.
