Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) Presidential candidate Gotabaya Rajapaksa will reject the conditions put forward by five Tamil political parties, SLPP member Wimal Weerawansa said yesterday.

Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) General Secretary Dayasiri Jayasekara said yesterday that the SLFP organisers who were said to have joined hands with the United National Party (UNP) were those who were sacked from the party.

A group of SLFP members are said to be preparing to appoint former President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunge or Kumara Welgama as their party’s leader, it is reported.

SLPP presidential candidate and former defence secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa said today said though he would work with the UN and human rights organisations in resolving contentious issues he could not recognize the UNHRC resolution on Sri Lanka because it was ‘illegal’.

ජනතාවට බරක් නොවන පරිදි මෙරට බදු ප‍්‍රතිපත්තිය සකස් කළ හැකිව තිබියදිත් එය එසේ සිදුනොවන බව ජනාධිපති ධූර අපේක්ෂක පාර්ලිමේන්තු මන්තී‍්‍ර අනුර කුමාර දිසානායක පවසනවා.

ශ්‍රී ලංකා පොදුජන පෙරමුණේ ජනාධිපති අපේක්‍ෂක ගෝඨාභය රාජපක්‍ෂ අද (15) කොළඹ පැවති මාධ්‍ය හමුවකට එක්වුණා. ඒ, ජනාධිපති අපේක්‍ෂකත්වයට පත්වීමෙන් පසු පළමු වරටයි. එහිදී මාධ්‍යවේදීන් නැගූ ප්‍රශ්න ගණනාවකට ඔහු පිළිතුරු ලබාදුන්නා. ජනාධිපති අපේක්‍ෂකයන් එකම වේදිකාවකට ගෙනඑමින් ඉකුත්දා පැවැත්වූ වැඩසටහනට සහභාගි නොවීම සම්බන්ධයෙන් මාධ්‍යවේදියෙකු එහිදී ප්‍රශ්නයක් යොමු කළා.
