The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) won all 17 wards of the Elpitiya Pradeshiya Saba securing the election victory. The party garnered 23,372 votes and won 17 seats.

The UNP led alliance will go ahead with its strategies to win the presidential elections ignoring the results of the Elpitiya Pradeshiya Sabha election, some MPs of the party said yesterday.

දේශපාලකයින් අයථා ලෙස උපයා ගත් මහජන දේපල ආපසු රජයට බාර දීම සඳහා මාස දෙකක සමා කාලයක් ලබා දෙන බව ජාතික ජන බලවේගයේ ජනාධිපති අපේක්ෂක අනුර කුමාර දිසානායක මහතා (10) කුරුණෑගලදී පැවති ජනාධිපතිවරණ ප්‍රචාරක රැස්වීමකදී ප්‍රකාශ කළේය.

The UNP -led alliance together with its presidential candidate Sajith Premadasa and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe will form a new government if it wins the presidential election, UNP General Secretary Akila Viraj Kariyawasam said today.

Opposition and SLPP Leader Mahinda Rajapaksa said although many candidates have been fielded in the presidential election with the objective of splitting votes, the votes for the SLPP candidate cannot be split from such moves.

හිටපු ආරක්ෂක ලේකම් ගෝඨාභය රාජපක්ෂ අද (10) සිංගප්පුරුව බලා පිටත්ව ගිය අප ගුවන් තොටුපල වාර්තාකරු සඳහන් කර සිටිනවා. ඒ වෛද්‍ය පරීක්ෂණයකට සහභාගිවීම සඳහායි.
