The non-academic staff of Sri Lanka's state universities are due to launch a 48-hour strike tomorrow demanding a salary increase.

ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ වෙළෙඳ පොළේ අලෙවි වන සම්පූර්ණ යොදය සහිත කිරිපිටි සම්බන්ධයෙන් යුරෝපයේදී සිදු කළ තත්ත්ව පරීක්ෂණ වාර්තාව පදනම් කරගනිමින් විද්වත් මණ්ඩලයක් විසින් සකස් කළ කිරිපිටි සම්බන්ධ විද්‍යාත්මක වාර්තාවක් පාර්ලිමේන්තුවට ඉදිරිපත් කර ඇති අතර ඒ සම්බන්ධයෙන් විවාදයක් පැවැත්වීමට නියමිතය.

රජය විසින් මුස්ලිම් විවාහ හා දික්කසාද පනතට මේ වනවිට යෝජනා කර ඇති සංශෝධන ප්‍රමාණවත් නොවන බවත් මුස්ලිම් කාන්තාවන් ඉල්ලා සිටින සියලුම සංශෝධන ඇතුළත් කරමින් පනත සම්පූර්ණයෙන් සංශෝධනයට ලක්විය යුතු බව හිටපු පාර්ලිමේන්තු මන්ත්‍රීනී ෆේරියල් අශ්රොෆ් මහත්මිය පවසයි.

යම් යම් කණ්ඩායම් විසින් සමාජය තුළ වපුරමින් තිබූ මුස්ලිම් විරෝධය උත්සන්න වීමටත් උත්සන්න කිරීමටත් පසුගිය පාස්කු ඉරිදා ප්‍රහාරයන් හේතු වූයේය. ඒ සමග විවිධ අරමුණු වෙනුවෙන් රට පුරා ඇවිලවීමට උත්සාහ කළ මුස්ලිම් විරෝධය ද විවිධාකාරයෙන් කරළියට පැමිණියේය. ඒ අතර මුස්ලිම් කාන්තා නිදහස, මුස්ලිම් ළමා විවාහ ආදී මාතෘකා වලට ද දැවැන්ත ප්‍රචාරණයක් ලබා දී තිබුණේය. මේවාට විරුද්ධව වැඩි වශයෙන් ආක්‍රමණශීලී ලෙස පෙනී සිටියේ ඇතැම් භික්ෂූන්ය. ඒ කෙසේ වෙතත් ළමා විවාහ සම්බන්ධයෙන් මුස්ලිම් සමාජය වෙත ඇගිල්ල දිගු කිරීමනොව ශ්‍රී ලාංකික සමාජයෙන් ළමා විවාහ තුරන් කිරීමට ගත යුතු සියලු පියවර ගත යුතුව තිබෙන්නේය. එමෙන්ම විවිධ කණ්ඩායම් වලට එක් ආගමික කණ්ඩායමක් දෙසට ඇගිල්ල දිගු කරමින් වෛරය පැතිරවීමට ඉඩදීමට වඩා ඒවා පිළිබද සත්‍ය කරුණු සමාජයට අනාවරණය කළ යුතුව තිබේ.
