ලෝක මාධ්‍ය නිදහස් දිනය අදයි-

ඇඳිරි නීතිය ලිහිල් කළ දිස්ත්‍රික්ක 21 කේ එම කාල සීමාවේ වෙළෙඳසල්වලින් වැඩියෙන්ම අලෙවි වී ඇත්තේ සීනි සහ යීස්ට් බව පොලිසිය සහ ශ්‍රී ලංකා සුරාබදු දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව අනාවරණය කරගෙන ඇත.

කොවිඩ් නයින්ටීන් වෛරස ආසාදිත පොකුරු සියල්ල හඳුනාගෙන ඇති බව රාජ්‍ය බුද්ධි සේවයේ වැඩබලන සහකාර අධ්‍යක්ෂ පරාක්‍රම ද සිල්වා මහතා සදහන් කළේය.

The Government has decided to pay a Rs. 5000 allowance for the month of May for people affected by the coronavirus.

The government yesterday announced the National Identity Card (NIC) numerical system, which had been introduced for the public to be adhered whilst stepping out of the house for essential purpose, will only be applicable for the areas where the curfew is in force.

Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Mahinda Rajapaksa yesterday dismissed as “absurd” the contention by the Opposition that the President cannot allocate funds after the lapse of the Vote on Account (VoA) and said any questions on expenditure can be raised once the new Parliament is convened.

Minister of Mahaweli, Agriculture, Irrigation and Rural Development, Internal Trade, Food Security and Consumer Welfare Chamal Rajapaksa said the Opposition’s call to reconvene Parliament is a sinister move to embarrass the Government and create an unnecessary crisis situation in the country. Reconvening the old Parliament would not provide any solution to the prevailing situation but would lead to yet another confrontation as was witnessed in the recent past.
