The Election Commission has informed the public to refrain from visiting District Election Offices to obtain information pertaining to the voter register, for details required for the 2021 Grade 1 school admissions.
According to the circular issued by the Ministry of Education recently, pertaining to Grade 1 admissions, applicants must be included in the voter register for five years.
However, the Election Commission stated that District Election Offices will not be issuing the relevant data owing to the present situation as a result of the coronavirus.
The Election Commission therefore stated that relevant information can be obtained by the relevant Grama Niladhari officer or by entering the National Identity Card number after visiting www.elections.gov.lk.
