The Attorney General's Department has been closed until further notice after a private female security officer at the Department was infected with COVID- 19.

All courts except the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal will start functioning from tomorrow for internal administrative work, including setting new dates for cases, Judicial Service Commission announced yesterday.

The Election Commission is expected to announce its decision on holding the postponed parliamentary election on Monday, following a decisive meeting with stakeholders.

The government has given a better option for tax-paying employees by introducing the Advance Personal Income Tax (APIT) following the scrapping of Pay-As You-Earn (PAYE) tax and other withholding taxes (WHT).

The Government has decided to lift the ongoing islandwide curfew imposed for a month to curb the spread of COVID-19 pandemic, in many districts and Police divisions from Monday, announced the President’s Media Division in a release last night.

Three more have tested positive for Coronavirus and they are all females, said Health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi. They were in quarantine at the Punani Quarantine Centre.
