The Election Commission (EC) will meet on Wednesday (15) to discuss the letter sent by President’s Secretary Dr. P.B. Jayasundera regarding the parliamentary election in order to formulate an appropriate reply.

කොවිඞ් 19 හෙවත් නව කොරෝනා පැතිරයාම වලක්වාලීමට ගනු ලැබ තිබෙන ඇතැම් පියවර නිසා පීඩාවට පත් අඩු ආදායම්ලාභීන්ට රජය ලබා දෙන සහනාධාරය විධිමත්ව බෙදී නොයෙන බවට චෝදනා නැගෙනවා.

A leading tourist hotel in Mt. Lavinia, which had been occupied by a group of over hundred Chinese nationals who had enjoyed the services of its bar to date disregarding the government’s strict curfew regulations, was raided by the Excise Department officials last evening.

The Government has decided to reopen schools for the second term on May 11. However, the second term was scheduled to commence on April 20.

Defence Secretary Maj.Gen.(Retd) Kamal Gunaratne said considering the present situation related to COVID-19 in the country, the government had not taken a decision to announce a complete lockdown during the next week.

The curfew imposed in the districts of Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara, Puttalam, Kandy and Jaffna which have been identified as High Risk Zones will continue until further notice, while in all other districts, curfew has been extended till 6.00am on Thursday, the 16th April, President’s Media Division said.

The number of COVID-19 infected patients has increased to 197 with seven positive cases reported today, the Health Ministry said. It said six patients were identified from Ja-Ela while one patient was found from Dehiwala.

අද (11) පස්වරු 04සිට ප‍්‍රදේශ කිහිපයකට පැය 12ක් ජල සැපයුම අත්හිටුවන බව ජාතික ජලසම්පාදන හා ජලාපවහන මණ්ඩලය පවසනවා. කැළණිය, පෑලියගොඩ, වත්තල සහ මබෝල මෙලෙස ජල සැපයුම අත්හිටුවන ප‍්‍රදේශ කිහිපයක්.

නව කොරෝනා වෛරසය ආසාදනය වී ඇති බවට තහවුරු වී රෝහල්ගතව ප‍්‍රතිකාර ලැබූ තවත් පුද්ගලයෙකු සුවය ලබා රෝහලෙන් පිටව ගොස් තිබෙනවා.

මෙරටින් වාර්තා වන නව කොරෝනා රෝගීන් සංඛ්‍යාව 199ක් දක්වා ඉහළ ගොස් ඇති බව වසංගත රෝග විද්‍යා අංශය සඳහන් කර සිටිනවා.

Health Services Director General Dr. Anil Jasinghe yesterday instructed the country’s public health staff of the country that locking down of areas should be done in consultation with the Epidemiology Unit after careful risk analysis of the situation.

කොරෝනා වෛරසය රට පුරා ව්‍යාප්ත වීමත් සමග එම වෛරසය මර්දනය සඳහා දායක විය හැකි නව නිපැයුම් 109 ක් සිය ආයතනය වෙත ලැබී ඇති බව ශී‍්‍ර ලංකා නව නිපැයුම්කරුවන්ගේ කොමිසම පවසනවා. එහි කොමසාරිස් මහාචාර්ය රංගික හල්වතුර නෙත් නිවුස් වෙත කියා සිටියේ එම නිර්මාණ අතරින් 13 ක් වැඩි දියුණු කිරීම සඳහා මූල්‍යාධාර ලබා දීමට නව නිපැයුම්කරුවන්ගේ කොමිසම දැනටමත් පියවර ගෙන ඇති බවයි.
