The Government has decided to buy from farmers all fruits and vegetables unsold due to travel restrictions during the third wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.

අද (08) සහ හෙට (09) යන දෙදින තුළ දිවයිනේ සියලුම ආර්ථික මධ්‍යස්ථාන තොග වෙළඳාම සඳහා විවෘතව තැබීමට කෘෂිකර්ම රාජ්‍ය අමාත්‍යාංශය තීරණය කර තිබේ.

නව කැළණි පාලමේ සිට අතුරුගිරිය දක්වා අධිවේගි මාර්ගය සහ තවත් ගුවන් පාලම් 5 ක ඉදිකිරීම් කටයුතු අග්‍රාමාත්‍ය මහින්ද රාජපක්‍ෂ මහතාගේ ප්‍රධානත්වයෙන් අද ආරම්භ වුණා.

කිසිම හේතුවකට කාබනික පොහොර ආනයනය කිරීමට රජයේ බලාපොරොත්තුවක් නැති බව කෘෂිකර්ම අමාත්‍ය මහින්දානන්ද අළුත්ගමගේ මහතා අද (08) පාර්ලිමේන්තුවේදී පැවසුවේය.

කොළඹ වරාය ආසන්නයේ ගිනි ගැනීමට ලක්වූ එක්ස්ප්‍රස් පර්ල් නෞකාවේ කපිතාන්වරයා විසින් එම නැව් සමාගමේ ශ්‍රී ලංකා නියෝජිත සමාගම වෙත එවූ ඊමේල් පණිවිඩ කිහිපයක් එම සමාගම විසින් මකා දමා ඇති බව නියෝජ්‍ය සොලිසිටර් ජනරාල් මාධව තෙන්නකෝන් මහතා ඊයේ (07) කොළඹ මහේස්ත්‍රාත් අධිකරණයට දැනුම් දුන්නේය.

අත්‍යවශ්‍ය සේවා සදහා කොළඹ නගරයට ඇතුලුවන රථවාහන වර්ගීකරණය කර ඒවා සදහා වර්ණ 11 කින් යුත් ස්ටිකර් ඇලවීම අද පෙරවරුවේ ආරම්භ වුණා.

Ports and Shipping Minister Rohitha Abeygunawardane, along with the Trade Minister, has secured Cabinet approval to release confiscated essential items held by the custom authorities, to the Sathosa retail chain to be sold at concessionary rates to consumers during the pandemic .

“My Government is prepared to proactively support truly transformative investments,” the President reiterated, whilst listing a host of attractive new opportunities in multiple sectors of the Sri Lankan economy.

Dubbed as Asia’s first and largest virtual investor forum, the event, according to organisers, has drawn 4,000 participants, including 1,500 investors, over 100 speakers across 120 sessions. Due to the overwhelming response, Day One was live streamed via YouTube LIVE as well in addition to Dialog TV and Peo TV broadcasting live.

Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa will kick off Day Two whilst State Minister of Money, Capital Markets and Public Enterprises Reform Nivard Cabraal will be the Chief Guest on the final day. Sri Lanka Investment Forum is organised by the Board of Investment, Colombo Stock Exchange and the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce with support from multiple private sector companies.

In his keynote, President Rajapaksa said the Government has ambitious plans to unleash a decade of transformational and rapid economic growth to double national output from its current level to $ 8,000 GDP per capita by 2030.
