New Secretaries to 32 State Ministries were appointed by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa yesterday. Letters of appointments were presented by Secretary to the President Dr. P.B. Jayasundara at the Presidential Secretariat.

After announcing a series of tax concessions by the Government, the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) has revised the payment for registration and renewal fees of migrant workers with effect from December 1.

In a move to strengthen the state bureaucracy and protect public officers from future political reprisal, the Government is to undertake a probe into political witch-hunts against certain targeted public officers during the last government. New laws and mechanisms are also under consideration to ensure greater protection for the state bureaucracy in the future, it was announced yesterday.
