මැතිවරණ ප්‍රචණ්ඩ ක්‍රියාවල නිරත වීමේ චෝදනා මත අද (15 දා) සහ හෙට (16 දා) යම් පුද්ගලයකු අත්අඩංගුවට පත් වුවහොත් ඔවුනට පොලිස් ඇප ලබා නොදෙන ලෙසත්, ඔවුන් ජනාධිපතිවරණය අවසන් වනතුරු රිමාන්ඞ් කර තබන ලෙසත් පොලිසියෙන් ඉල්ලා සිටින බව මැතිවරණ කොමිසමේ සභාපති මහින්ද දේශප්‍රිය මහතා පැවසීය.

ජනපති අපේක්ෂක ගෝඨාභය රාජපක්ෂගේ ද්විත්ව පුරවැසිභාවය පිළිබඳව යම් ගැටලුවක් පැවැතියේ නම් නාමයෝජනා පත්‍ර භාරදෙන අවස්ථාවේ ඊට විරෝධතා ඉදිරිපත් කිරීමට අවස්ථාව තිබූ බව මැතිවරණ කොමිෂන් සභාවේ සභාපති මහින්ද දේශප්‍රිය මහතා පවසයි.
