The Government Information Department has notified the ministerial staff not to reveal the Cabinet decisions to the media, it is reported.
Previously, the Government Information Department distributes the Cabinet decisions the day after the Cabinet meeting is held.
However, the Government Information Department had notified all media institutions yesterday (13) that the Cabinet decisions of last Monday’s Cabinet meeting would not be given to the media.
The media had reported that this decision had been taken based on a directive issued to the ministerial staff by a very high ranking politician.
This was the final Cabinet meeting that President Maithripala Sirisena participated in.
