Power and Energy Minister Mahinda Amaraweera yesterday acknowledged that the Government had limited time to take a decision on potentially moving forward with a proposed LNG power plant as parliament is likely to be dissolved early March but assured that uninterrupted power supply would be maintained.

The Government claims Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa’s family members did not travel to India on state funds.

India is likely to respond positively to the request by Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa to grant a moratorium for the repayment of loans obtained, Daily Mirror learns.
