The Ministry of Defence (MOD) announced today that applications to obtain a firearm licence are now being accepted.

රජයේ පාසල්වලට සිසුන් ඇතුළත් කර ගැනීම සම්බන්ධයෙන් වන ඇතැම් රෙගුලාසි ලබන වසරේදී ලිහිල් කෙරෙනු ඇතැයි දකුණු පළාත් ආණ්ඩුකාර විලි ගමගේ පවසනවා. ඔහු ඒ බව පැවසුවේ ගාල්ල - වඳුරඹ මහා විද්‍යාලය ආසන්නයේ පදිංචි සිසුවෙකු එම පාසලට ඇතුළත් කර ගන්නා ලෙස රාජ්‍ය අමාත්‍ය මොහාන් ප‍්‍රියදර්ශන ද සිල්වා එම විද්‍යාලයේ විදුහල්පතිවරයාට බලපෑම් කළ බව කියන සිද්ධිය සම්බන්ධයෙන් මාධ්‍යවේදීන් කළ විමසීමකදීයි.

අධිකරණයේ ස්වාධීනත්වය නිසි අයුරින් ජනතාවගේ යහපත උදෙසා ක්‍රියාත්මක වනු ඇතැයි තමන් බලාපොරොත්තු වන බවත් ඒ සම්බන්ධයෙන් අගවිනිසුරුවරයා කෙරෙහි තමන් දැඩි විශ්වාසයක් රඳවාගෙන සිටින බවත් ජනාධිපති ගෝඨාභය රාජපක්ෂ මහතා පවසයි.

Foreign Minister Dinesh Gunawardena, who officially informed the Parliament of Government’s decision to withdraw from co-sponsored UN resolution 30/1, said that the government would continue to work with the UN and its agencies, including the regular human rights mandates/bodies and mechanisms as required in keeping with domestic priorities and policies.
