Thousands of persons reported missing since the time of Sri Lanka’s civil war are “actually dead”, President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has said.

The uniform materials provided for the employees of the Foreign Employment Bureau is said to be substandard and as such the payment of around Rs. 30 million has been suspended, it is reported.

The UNP has adopted ‘fork-tongued stance’ on the Millennium Challenge Corporation agreement proposed by the USA, Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa charged yesterday. The Prime Minister points out in a media statement that while it was in government, the UNP had been ready to rush through approval of the MCC pact but now the very same party was opposing it.
