Modalities to issue temporary travel documents to undocumented workers abroad following proper authentication procedures has been agreed on by the Department of Immigration and Emigration, the Foreign Relations Ministry said in a statement yesterday.

සංචරණ සීමා පවත්වා ගැනීම වෙනුවෙන් රජය විසින් හඳුන්වා දුන්, ජාතික හැඳුණුම්පතේ අවසාන අංකයට අනුව නිවසින් බැහැරට යාමේ ක්‍රමවේදය අදාල වන්නේ ඇඳිරි නීතිය ක්‍රියාත්මක වන ප්‍රදේශ සඳහා පමණක් බව ජනාධිපති මාධ්‍ය අංශය නිකුත් කළ නිවේදනයක සඳහන් වේ.

Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Mahinda Rajapaksa yesterday dismissed as “absurd” the contention by the Opposition that the President cannot allocate funds after the lapse of the Vote on Account (VoA) and said any questions on expenditure can be raised once the new Parliament is convened.

ලබන 11 වැනිදා සිට සියළු පොදු ප‍්‍රවාහන සේවා සැපයෙන්නේ සෞඛ්‍ය හා ආරක්ෂක අංශවල උපදෙස් අනුව පමණක් බව මගී ප‍්‍රවාහන කළමාණකරන අමාත්‍යංශය නැවත අවධාරනය කරනවා.

The National Identity Card (NIC) rule will be in effect only from 11 May and not immediately, the Police said today.

The government yesterday announced the National Identity Card (NIC) numerical system, which had been introduced for the public to be adhered whilst stepping out of the house for essential purpose, will only be applicable for the areas where the curfew is in force.
