President Gotabaya Rajapaksa arrived in Parliament to witness the ongoing debate of the Second Reading of the 2021 Budget yesterday.

Health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi yesterday (18) debunked the attempts made by the Opposition to create controversies in connection to the appointments of former Health DG Dr. Anil Jasinghe and Dr. Jayaruwan Bandara.

කොවිඩ් වෛරසය ව්‍යාප්තිය සම්බන්ධයෙන් තර්ජනයක් නොමැති ප්‍රදේශ කිහිපයක් ඉදිරි සතිය තුළ යළිත් සාමාන්‍ය කටයුතු සඳහා විවෘත කරන බව යුද හමුදාපති ශවේන්ද්‍ර සිල්වා මහතා පවසනවා. හුදෙකලා කර ඇති ඇතැම් ප්‍රදේශවලින් පසුගිය දිනවලදී ආසාදිතයන් කිසිවෙකුත් වාර්තා වී නොමැති බවත්, එවැනි ප්‍රදේශ විවෘත කිරීම සම්බන්ධයෙන් මේ දිනවල අධ්‍යයනය කරමින් සිටින බවත් යුද හමුදාපතිවරයා පවසයි.

Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa said that all necessary arrangements have been made to provide water for all by the end of the year 2024.

The special Address to the Nation by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa will be telecast over all television and radio channels at 8.30 pm today (18).

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, a proven veteran who weathered many a storm marks the first anniversary since ascension to the Presidency today. The President secured a clear mandate at the last presidential election, held on November 16, 2019 for the implementation of his election manifesto “Vistas of Prosperity and Splendour” which contained the national programme that was crafted during nearly four years by incorporating his vision with the ideas and recommendations of national organisations.
