Sri Lankan government has banned the export or re-export of disposable surgical face masks and N-95 type face masks without the prior written approval of National Medicines Regulatory Authority as the country is facing a shortage of face masks amidst the ever increasing corona virus outbreak, Health Ministry announced. .

In the wake of ever increasing Covid-19 infected persons and some others concealing corona virus symptoms, Sri Lanka police have stepped into assist the quarantine process.

The Government has ramped up its anti-Coronavirus drive, with a plan to set up regional offices at divisional secretariat level to coordinate health measures and educate the public on preventing COVID-19.
