Former President Chandrika Kumaratunga has returned 4 of the 12 vehicles allocated to her by the Presidential Secretariat. In a letter sent to the Secretary to the President Dr. P.B. Jayasundera, Kumaratunga said the decision was taken after the “Government informed us it is facing serious financial constraints”.

ඉදිරි පාර්ලිමේන්තු මැතිවරණයේ දී තමන්ට ලැබෙන සෑම මනාපයක් වෙනුවෙන්ම පැලයක් බැගින් සිටුවන බවට ශ්‍රී ලංකා පොදුජන පෙරමුණේ කොළඹ දිස්ත්‍රික් අපේක්ෂක නීතිඥ උදය ගම්මන්පිල මහතා විසින් පරිසරවේදීන් ඉදිරියේ පොරොන්දුවක් ලබා දෙන ලදී. ඒ මහතා මෙම පොරොන්දුව ලබා දුන්නේ ශ්‍රී ජයවර්ධන පුර “ දියසරු උයණේ දී “ පැවති “හරිත හෙටක් – මනාපයට පැලයක්” ප්‍රතිඥාව පරිසරවේදීන් වෙත ලබා දීමේ වැඩසටහන හා එක්වෙමිනි.
