The High Commission of Sri Lanka in the United Kingdom in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB), Sri Lanka Apparel Sourcing Association (SLASA), and Joint Apparel Association Forum (JAAF), proudly presented the ‘Sourced Sri Lanka’ Fashion and Textile Tradeshow on 17 -18 June at the Royal Horticultural Hall in London.

The Financial Intelligence Unit of Sri Lanka (FIU-Sri Lanka) entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Financial Intelligence National Centre of the Kingdom of Bahrain (FINC-Bahrain).

The Sri Lanka Automobile Assemblers Association (SLAAA) last week dismissed reports the industry is receiving unwarranted tax breaks that pave the way for corruption, and stated the Government approved concessions are solely to promote investments into the industry.

Tea production in May saw an uptick, but the first five months’ crop sustained an overall decline, highlighting ongoing challenges within the industry, including weather variability and other factors on cultivation.

Sri Lanka Tourism is poised to achieve a significant milestone by the end of the month, with expectations of surpassing 1 million visitor arrivals if the current momentum continues. As of the first 19 days of June, the country welcomed 69,825 tourists, bringing the cumulative figure for the year to 966,825.
