මේ දිනවල පවතින වියළි කාලගුණ තත්ත්වයත් සමග කළු ගඟේ ජලයට ලවණ මිශ්‍රවී ඇති බැවින් කළු ගඟෙන් සපයන ලවණ මුසු වූ ජලය පානය කිරීමට නුසුදුසු බව ජාතික ජලසම්පාදන හා ජලාපවාහන මණ්ඩලය පවසනවා.

බන්ධනාගාර වල පවතින තදබදය අවම කිරීම සඳහා අවශ්‍ය කටයුතු යොදන්නැයි අධිකරණ, මානව හිමිකම් හා නීති ප්‍රතිසංස්කරණ අමාත්‍ය නිමල් සිරිපාල ද සිල්වා මහතා බලධාරීන්ට උපදෙස් දී තිබේ.

The Government will present an amendment to the Vote on Account 2020 to Parliament next week, seeking Parliamentary approval to increase the debt ceiling from Rs. 721 billion to Rs. 1,078 billion and make additional budgetary provisions of Rs. 367 billion, required to settle bills of completed projects implemented by various Ministries under the previous Government, which remain unsettled so far.

A National Salaries Commission has been established to provide guidance and assistance to the Government in formulating and executing a National Salaries Policy.

The Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) says the daily income of the SLTB bus depots has increased and the government has decided to add 2000 more buses to the fleet this year.

Power and Energy Minister Mahinda Amaraweera yesterday acknowledged that the Government had limited time to take a decision on potentially moving forward with a proposed LNG power plant as parliament is likely to be dissolved early March but assured that uninterrupted power supply would be maintained.

The Government claims Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa’s family members did not travel to India on state funds.
