President Gotabaya Rajapaksa instructed relevant parties to take immediate measures to contain the spread of COVID – 19 following the identification of close associates of the affected and to increase the number of PCR tests.

ඉදිරියේදී පැවැත්වීමට නියමිතව තිබෙන 05 වසර ශිෂ්‍යත්ව විභාගය සහ උසස් පෙළ විභාගය සම්බන්ධයෙන් විභාග කොමසාරිස් ජනරාල් බී. සනත් පුජිත් ගෙන් විමසා සිටියා. එහිදී විභාග කොමසාරිස් ජනරාල්වරයා කියා සිටියේ පෙර දැනුම් දුන් දිනයන්වලම විභාග පැවැත්වීමට විභාග දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව කටයුතු යොදා ඇති බවයි.

The present government is now exploring the possibility of legalising and exporting Cannabis as a foreign money spinner by marketing it as medicinal herb internationally, Minister of Trade, Bandula Gunawardana disclosed.

Sixty-four Sri Lankan migrant workers have died from contracting COVID-19 so far, the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLFBE) said.
