President Maithripala Sirsiena Sirisena has once again registered his protest to Education Minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam over the plan to distribute free electronic tablets among schoolchildren.

සතිපතා පැවැත්වෙන කැබිනට් රැස්වීම මෙම සතියේ සුපුරුදු පරිදි පැවැත්වෙනු ඇති බවට රජයේ ආරංචි මාර්ග පවසනවා. ඒ අනුව හෙට (18) දිනයේ දී කැබිනට් මණ්ඩලය රැස්වනු ඇති බවටයි වාර්තා පළ වන්නේ.

President Maithripala Sirisena addressing the fifth Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, yesterday called on Asian countries not to allow outside powers to suppress the power of Asia.

“Poson Poya which falls on today marks the introduction of Buddhism in Sri Lanka with the arrival of Arahath Mahinda 2,326 years ago. This day we celebrate in grandeur manner with much devotion and honour as it symbolises the initial foot print of Buddhism in this country together with a civilization founded on Buddhism for generations to come,” President Maithripala Sirisena states in his Poson Message.
