The Elections Commission has decided to include an additional column to the ballot paper, according to the Additional Election Commissioner Rasika Peiris.
Attention has been focussed on including NOTA or 'None of the Above' as an option to the voters of Sri Lanka.
Peiris noted that this new column would be included so that voters could use it in the event they do not want to vote for any of the candidates listed on the ballot sheet.
The Additional Election Commissioner said that this decision was taken based on requests received from various parties and through views published on social media. He said the party secretaries were notified of this decision at a discussion held recently.
