විධායක ජනාධිපතිධුරය අහෝසි කිරීම සම්බන්ධයෙන් පසුගියදා පැවති විශේෂ කැබිනට් රැස්වීම තමාගේ අවශ්‍යතාවයක් මත නොව එය අගමැතිවරයාගේ අවශ්‍යතාවයක් මත සිදුවූවක් බව ජනාධිපති මෛත්‍රිපාල සිරිසේන මහතා ප්‍රකාශ කර සිටිනවා. ජනාධිපතිවරයා මේ බව කියා සිටියේ මාතලේ අද (21) පැවති ශ්‍රී ලංකා නිදහස් පක්ෂයේ දිස්ත්‍රික් සම්මේලනයට එක්වෙමින්ය.

නිවාස සංවර්ධන අධිකාරියේ ලබා දී ඇති නීතිවිරෝධී පත්වීම් ගැන අමාත්‍ය සජිත් ප්‍රේමදාස මහතාගෙන් කටඋත්තරයක් ලබා ගැනීම සඳහා ජනාධිපති පරීක්ෂණ කොමිසමේ පොලිස් ඒකකයට අද (20)පැමිණෙන ලෙස එම කොමිසමෙන් සිතාසි නිකුත් කර තිබුණි.

The Parliament Select Committee (PSC) investigating the Easter Sunday attacks recorded a statement from President Maithripala Sirisena today.

ජනාධිපති මෛත්‍රිපාල සිරිසේන මහතා ගේ ප්‍රධානත්වයෙන් අද (19) පස්වරුවේ විශේෂ කැබිනට් රැස්වීමක් පැවැත්වීමට නියමිත බව වාර්තා වනවා. මෙම විශේෂ කැබිනට් රැස්වීම අද පස්වරු 3.00ට ආරම්භ වීමට නියමිතව තිබෙනවා.

ජනාධිපතිවරණයේ ඡන්ද විමසීම පවත්වා අවසාන වන තෙක් රාජ්‍ය දේපළ හා රාජ්‍ය උත්සව භාවිත කර දේශපාලනඥයින් ප්‍රවර්ධනය කිරීමේ කටයුතු තහනම් බව මැතිවරණ කොමිෂන් සභාව සඳහන් කරයි.

The Defence Ministry is calling reports of a possible attack similar to the Easter Sunday strikes now circulating on social media are incorrect.

President Maithripala Sirisena yesterday told the Parliamentary Select Committee investigating the Easter Sunday attacks that neither he nor the Presidential Security Division (PSD) was kept informed of intelligence reports about imminent terror attacks by either the Police Chief, the Defence Secretary or the Head of State Intelligence Services (SIS).

The Parliamentary Select Committee (PSC) mandated to probe the Easter terror attacks is scheduled to meet with President Maithripala Sirisena today at 10 a.m. at the Presidential Secretariat, chair of the committee and Deputy Speaker Ananda Kumarasiri said. “We will be meeting the President today. While the session will not be open to the media, the verbatim exchange will be in the PSC report,” he told the Daily News yesterday.
