President Maithripala Sirisena will preside over his final Cabinet meeting today before his term in office concludes with the election of a new President next week.
The Cabinet meeting has been scheduled for today as tomorrow is a Poya day. Among the Cabinet papers that are awaiting confirmation at the final meeting is one relating to giving permanent appointments to personal staff of Minister and Deputy Ministers. Several the Cabinet papers from the President’s Office also set to be confirmed today.
