British High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Sarah Hulton called on President Ranil Wickremesinghe at the Presidential Secretariat on Thursday and discussed matters of mutual interest.

Bangladesh Premier Sheikh Hasina has congratulated newly elected President Ranil Wickremesinghe and expressed confidence in the latter bringing in the desired peace and prosperity in Sri Lanka. She becomes the fifth head of state to wish Wickremesinghe.
