ජනාධිපතිවරයාගේ ඉදිරි කටයුතු වෙනුවෙන් පෞද්ගලික පරිහරණයට රුපියල් කෝටි 800ක මුදලක් වෙන් කර ඇති බවට ජනතා විමුක්ති පෙරමුණේ පාර්ලිමේන්තු මන්ත්‍රි විජිත හේරත් නගන චෝදනා සම්පූර්ණයෙන් අසත්‍ය හා පදනම් විරහිත බැවින් එය තරයේ ප‍්‍රතික්ෂේප කරන බව ජනාධිපති කාර්යාලය පවසනවා.

Out of the 35 presidential candidates, six have yet not handed over their declaration of assets and liabilities to the Election Commission, accordi9ng to the Election Commissioner Mahinda Deshapriya.

The Parliament Sectoral Oversight Committee on Anti-Corruption and the Media is considering a proposal to increase the number of Supreme Court Justices from the current 11 to 15. This recommendation by the Committee is for the purpose of enhancing the capacity of the judicial system to handle the mounting number of cases, according to Parliament sources. The Committee also agreed that the delays in court proceedings were a serious issue and has asked for a thorough investigation into the whole matter of delays, a Parliament communique said.
