The opposition yesterday requested the Speaker to allow parliamentarian Rishad Bathiudeen, who was arrested recently, to attend parliamentary sittings.

Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) General Secretary Ranjith Madduma Bandara, yesterday continued their criticism of the 20th Amendment, questioning whether the controversial Constitutional change will help contain the spread of COVID-19 and the economic crisis the country is facing.

20 වන සංශෝධනයට විරුද්ධව මත පළ කරන මැතිඇමැතිවරුන් පිරිසක් ජනාධිපතිවරයා සහ අගමැතිවරයා සමග වෙනම සාකච්ජාවක් ඉල්ලා ඇති බව දැනගන්නට තිබේ.

MP Rishad Bathiudeen has been arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at Dehiwala a short while ago, stated the Police Media Spokesman.
