The Sri Lanka Army is the last stages of developing “Strategy 2025” to guide the forces into the future, Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva said yesterday.

Construction of new buildings for Government institutions has been stopped for the next two years. In instances where the bulk of the work is complete, the Treasury will release funds to finalise such projects.

The Government is to submit the 20th Amendment to the Constitution to Parliament within a period of two weeks.

The Finance Ministry has issued strict guidelines to State institutions for preparation of their Budget for 2021, putting curbs on funding for new or stalled projects, maintenance of project offices and staff, and imposing a ban on construction of new buildings for government institutions for the next two years.

රාජ්‍ය පත්වීම් ලබාගන්නා පිරිස පිළිබඳව අවධානය යොමු කිරීමේදී ඉදිරියේදී කාන්තාවන් විසින් රාජ්‍ය සේවය අත්පත් කරගැනීමට වැඩි ඉඩක් ඇතිබව පෙනී යන්නේ යැයි ප්‍රවාහන රාජ්‍ය ඇමැති දිලුම් අමුණුගම පවසයි. කාන්තාවන්ගේ නැගීසිටීම පිළිබඳව තමා සතුටට පත්වන බව පවසන ඇමැතිවරයා ඒ තුළින් ඉදිරියේදී ශක්තිමත් රාජ්‍ය සේවයක් ස්ථාපිත වනු ඇති බවද සඳහන් කරයි.

අග්‍රාමාත්‍ය මහින්ද රාජපක්ෂ මැතිතුමා කළ ඉල්ලීමකට අනුව හෙට 2020.09.07 දින සිට බිත්තර මිල රුපියල් 2.00 කින් පහළ දැමීමට සමස්ත ලංකා බිත්තර නිෂ්පාදකයන්ගේ සංගමය තීරණය කර ඇත.

Sri Lanka is now preparing 2021 budgetary estimates pruning government expenditure amidst Covid-19 pandemic repercussions as the government expenditure is expected to rise accordingly. .
