Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa has rejected social media claims that soon after his appointment as the finance minister he is going to impose a 14% tax on Employment Provident Fund (EPF).
He made this comment when he a discussion with Parliamentarians, Governors, District Secretariats and other representatives at Temple Trees on Tuesday.
Commenting on the vaccination program , the minister said that the ministry will allocate money unconditionally for the purchase of Covid-19 vaccines giving priority to ensuring the health and safety of the people. He also revealed that steps would be taken to digitize government agencies and funds would be allocated accordingly.
