The Buddha Sasana Ministry has permitted people to hold danselas and set up pandals during the Poson Poya festive season, Minister Perera told the Daily News yesterday.
Furthermore, Buddhist Affairs Department Commissioner-General Sunanda Kariyapperuma informed all District and Divisional Secretaries in a circular that pirith-chanting ceremonies should be held at their offices on Poson Poya Day.
The circular stated that Sanghika dhana (alms-givings for Buddhist monks) should also be conducted.
