Archbishop of Colombo appears before Easter Sunday commission again

The Archbishop of Colombo, Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith appeared before the Presidential Commission of Inquiry probing the Easter Sunday terror attacks for a second day today.

The Archbishop gave a statement to the commission yesterday (Friday) for nearly four hours and appeared again today to give more evidence.

The commission has been recording statements on the attacks from witnesses and others at the BMICH in Colombo.

The commission is headed by Court of Appeal Judge Janak de Silva and was appointed by former President Maithripala Sirisena.

Sirisena appointed the Presidential Commission of Inquiry on September 21st to investigate and report on the Easter Sunday attacks that killed 259 people in a series of suicide bombings in churches and hotels. The public were given the opportunity to lodge complaints related to the attacks. (Colombo Gazette)
