With the increase in the prices of fuel and wasting days and nights in queues for fuel, people have switched back to the most affordable, economical and healthy mode of transportation; riding their push bicycles for their transportation needs.
Several shop owners who are selling bicycles said that people are searching to buy push bicycles for their transportation.
However, the price of bicycles has increased multifold due to ban on imports by the government.
"We are running out of bicycles and spare parts. We do not think that our shops can run any longer. After the existing stocks of bicycles and spare parts are sold out, we will be left with no other alternatives," the shop owners said.
People are now keen to repair their old bicycles, and every shop that repairs bicycles are very busy now.
The price of a mountain bicycle has gone up to Rs. 45,000 due to shortages and import ban, the shop owners said. (Daily Mirror)
