Private bowser strike called off

The Ceylon Petroleum Private Bowser Owners Association (CPPBOA) said that they have decided to call off their ongoing strike today, after having reached a consensus with the CPC Chairman.

They said the discussion with the CPC chairman today over their strike and the former agreed to grant 40% of their revision in fares.

Following the increase in fuel prices, private fuel bowser owners demanded a 40% increase to the transporting cost.

The Bowser Association claimed that their annual charge revision will be submitted in due course and the deficit will also be added to that.

They began their strike on Saturday (April 30).

However, the association said it would take a maximum of three days to restore the fuel transportation normalcy in the country. (Daily Mirror)
