The prevailing showery conditions are expected to increase over the next few days, particularly in the south west of the island the Department of Meteorology said today (22).
Showers or thundershowers will occur in many parts of the island including the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and Southern provinces.
The Met Department said heavy rainfall of about 100 mm can be expected at some places in Central, Sabaragamuwa, Southern and Uva provinces and in Kalutara district.
Showers or thundershowers may also occur at several places in the Central, Uva, North-Central, North Western and Eastern provinces and in the Vavuniya and Mullativu districts after 2. 00 pm.
Temporary localised strong winds are expected during thundershowers, the Met Department added.
