A total of 17 employees attached to a state bank on Duke Street in Colombo tested positive for the coronavirus, sources said.
It was reported that the employees were COVID positive after engaging in a new year celebration held recently.
However, the Additional General Manager (AGM) of the Information Department (IT) of the said state bank advised all employees not to conduct any PCR tests and to continue with their work.
The employees had conducted PCR tests at private hospitals. The MOH and PHI officers were informed in this regard.
Despite the numerous positive cases at the bank, the customers were seen engaged in transactions.
