Top Police and Intelligence Service officials have been asked to appear before the Parliamentary Select Committee (PSC) probing the Easter Sunday attacks, Committee Chairman Ananda Kumarasiri said.
They have been notified to appear before the PSC on July 24.
They had originally been informed to appear before the PSC On July 12, but the session had been postponed as some officials were abroad and had prior engagements with the National Police Commission.
“Senior DIG of the State Intelligence Service, Nilantha Jayawardena, Senior DIG of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Ravi Senaviratne, and CID Director SSP Shani Abeysekera are among these officials,” Chairman Kumarasiri said.
He said the Director General of the Terrorist Investigation Division (TID) Waruna Jayasundara and TID Police Inspector Tharanga Pathirana have also been asked to appear before the PSC.
Committee sittings are expected to begin at 9:30 am, but is unlikely to be open to the media.
The Chairman said that audio recordings of the session would be handed over to the media afterwards.
