Former Minister Rishad Bathiudeen and Army Commander Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake have been summoned before the Parliament Select Committee (PSC) probing the Easter Sunday terrorist attacks, tommorow (26).
The PSC sources said the media would be allowed to cover the sittings.
He also said that the Industry and Commerce Ministry Secretary and an official of the Industrial Development Board have also been summoned on the same day.
The meeting will start at 2 p.m. at the Parliament complex.
The PSC headed by Deputy Speaker Ananda Kumarasiri includes Ministers Dr. Rajitha Senaratne, Rauff Hakeem and Ravi Karunanayake, MPs Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka, Prof. Ashu Marasinghe, Dr. Jayampathy Wickramaratne, Dr Nalinda Jayatissa and M.A.Sumanthiran.
The Parliamentary Select Committee (PSC) appointed to investigate the terrorist attacks in various parts of the country on April 21 and report to Parliament has held several sessions where a number of state, security officials and politicians have testified. The former Inspector General of Police Pujith Jayasundara, former Defence Secretary Hemasiri Fernando, DIG Nalaka Silva, former Director of Terrorist Investigation Division, former Western Province Governor Azath Salley, Defence Secretary General Shantha Kottegoda, Chief of State Intelligence Service Sisira Mendis, Former Governor of the Eastern Province M.L.A.M. Hizbullah are some of the notable persons who have appeared before the PSC.
