Marking of 2nd anniversary of Easter Sunday attacks

Archbishop of Colombo Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith alleged yesterday that it was not religious extremism which resulted in the Easter Sunday attacks but the work of certain groups who used religious extremism as a cover to strengthen their political power.

The Muslim Council of Sri Lanka (MCSL) in a statement yesterday called upon all Sri Lankans to support and join the call of the Archbishop of Colombo Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith in observing a minute’s silence on 21 April at 8.45 a.m. to commemorate those who lost their lives in the 2019 Easter Sunday attacks.
