Please donate Blood

The National Blood Transfusion Service requests blood donors to donate blood during this crucial period. A special hotline, 0115 332153 has been introduced for donors to avoid overcrowding at the National Blood Centre, Narahenpita during blood donation.

Blood donors can also contact the Blood Bank at Apeksha Hospital in Maharagama over 0112 849 525. The donors can call the aforementioned hotlines to make an appointment to donate blood.

The National Blood Transfusion Service sources say that any individual who has/had symptoms like fever, cough and respiratory difficulties during past one month should NOT donate blood.

Individuals who have a family member currently having fever, cough and respiratory difficulties, had close contact with a person who travelled overseas during past one month and had traveled overseas during past three months, are advised NOT to donate blood.
