President Goatabaya Rajapaksa today thanked China for supporting Sri Lanka’s efforts in the fight against the coronavirus.
The President said that China had dispatched a consignment of medical equipment and utilities which was received at the Katunayake International airport yesterday.
“I would like to extend my gratitude to the Government of China for supporting Sri Lanka’s initiatives against Covid-19 by dispatching a consignment of medical equipment and utilities which was received at the Katunayake International airport yesterday,” the President said in a post on Facebook.
The donation is valued at over US $ 693,000 and its contents include 20000 COVID test kits, 10000 N-95 masks, 100000 surgical masks, 10000 PPE Protective Suits, 1000 medical goggles and 50,000 surgical gloves. (Colombo Gazette)
