Sri Lanka Embassy in Ankara Celebrates Christmas and New Year with Children with Special needs

The Mission celebrated the Christmas and New Year with the children at the “Autism Foundation School” in Incek, Ankara on 29 December 2021

Ambassador M. Rizvi Hassen together with family and the Embassy staff visited the Autism Foundation School, which is a special education center that offers not only education but also extra-curricular activities such as sports and vocational training which brighten the lives of special needs children.

During the brief interactions with the children, parents and school management, Ambassador Rizvi Hassen thanked the school management for the time allocated for the Mission to spend time with the children and watch their performances. Further, the Ambassador conveyed New Year greetings and thanked everyone who joined the event.

The Chairman of the Autism Foundation Aydin Cayan underlined the importance of raising awareness of autism and thanked the Ambassador and the Embassy staff for choosing them to celebrate Christmas and the New Year.

During the event, the Embassy staff along with the Sri Lankans living in Ankara joined the children in singing Christmas Carol and afterwards the children performed impressive music and sports events entertaining those present.

The Mission through contributions made by the Mission staff and the Sri Lankans living in Ankara handed over gifts to the children. The gathering enjoyed Sri Lankan delicacies and the Pure Ceylon Tea.
