Petroleum Corporation owes two banks 56 billion

The Petroleum Corporation owes Bank of Ceylon and People’s Bank Rs. 56.2 billion, according to the 2018 Finance Ministry report.

This is the highest debt shown by the Petroleum Corporation in recent years.

According to the Finance Ministry report, the Port Authority which showed profits previously from the tenure of the previous government, recorded a loss of Rs. 15 billion in 2018.

Further, the CEB has shown a loss of Rs. 30 billion, while Sri Lankan Airlines recorded a loss of Rs. 17 billion.

However, SLTB which was recording losses previously, has now shown a profit of Rs. 2 billion for 2018.

In addition, Airport and Aviation had also recorded a profit of Rs. 10 billion for 2018.
