PM assures no change in stand on political solution

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe assured the Government still stands committed to a political solution.

Speaking in Jaffna, the Prime Minister said that the Government will ensure the commitment to a political solution is met.

He said that the post war reconciliation process was going forward and it will be used to ensure a political solution is also implemented.

The Prime Minister said that Sri Lanka does not want another war nor should there be communal clashes.

He said some groups are attempting to use the Easter Sunday attacks to spread hate among communities.

The Prime Minister noted that such attempts are being made mostly in the Negombo area these days.

Wickremesinghe dismissed claims that the local group behind the Easter Sunday attacks was still active and posed a threat to the country. (Colombo Gazette)
