Sri Lanka’s new President Gotabaya Rajapaksa assumed duties at the presidential secretariat Tuesday after winning 52 percent of the vote on 2019 presidential elections.
Former Treasury Secretary P B Jayasundera, was appointed as his secretary.
Rajapaksa is the 7th president of Sri Lanka.
Among those present in the office to see him take up duties were parliamentarians Dinesh Gunewardene, Wimal Weerawansa, Bandula Gunewardene, Mahinda Amaraweera, Keheliya Rambukwelle.
