The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL), the electricity sector regulator, finalized its Activity Plan 2020 to fundamentally support the long-term goals.
It includes increasing efficiency, quality of service and enhancing technical standards and safety of electricity industry in Sri Lanka and to create the regulatory environment for water services and petroleum industries.
Collectively, these measures have been taken to significantly improve the performance of the electricity industry, making it fairer, more efficient and more growth-friendly through regulating and monitoring by the PUCSL.
The PUCSL recognized 78 new activities to be implemented related to electricity, water services and petroleum industries in the year 2020 while 43 routine activities mostly related to the electricity industry and the lubricant market was identified.
The public consultation on the new activity plan 2020 will be kicked off on 24th August 2019, giving an opportunity to stakeholders to comment and make recommendations for next year’s plan of PUCSL.
