Nine Deputy Director Generals of Health Services have been appointed to all provinces to coordinate and monitor the COVID-19 prevention programme.
Health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi has made the appointments last Friday (07).
A media release issued by the Health Ministry states that they have been directed to monitor the COVID-19 prevention programme in each province and to take steps to provide necessary facilities.
The media release further states that 105 COVID-19 treatment centres have been established islandwide at the moment with 19,000 beds reserved for COVID-19 patients.
