The Public Health Inspectors (PHI) Union of Sri Lanka has decided to call off their trade union action from tomorrow 7.30 am, Union’s Secretary M. Balasooriya said.
The decision to call off the strike has been made after satisfactory solutions were granted at a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa today.
On last Friday (17), the PHIs declared that they would resort to a trade union action.
The Union arrived at the decision to withdraw from COVID-19 control services following the government's failure to provide the PHIs the legal provisions necessary for their duties.
